Could Celtics be Even More Shorthanded? Sharpshooter Dealing With Elbow Injury

The Celtics certainly are looking forward to the All-Star break

The Boston Celtics certainly aren't at full strength right now.

Boston began the first night of a back-to-back Tuesday night with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Al Horford all missing the team's loss against the Milwaukee Bucks and big Robert Williams limited to just 13 minutes of action.

The Celtics will be back in action Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons and the team will be shorthanded again. One other player who did play Tuesday, but is dealing with an injury is sharpshooter Grant Williams. The big man injured his elbow during the team's most recent homestand and discussed the ailment after Boston's loss to the Bucks.

"I don't know if I'm supposed to disclose at all but it's just been arm stuff," Williams said as seen on NBC Sports Boston. "But, you still have got to shoot it. Our medical doctors do a great job of taking care of us and for me, I've always told myself to play through everything. It's not an excuse. I shot it multiple times during the game and it felt pretty good. Hopefully, at the All-Star break, I can let it settle down and trust that it will work out."

The Celtics certainly can't handle missing any more players. Luckily for Boston, the NBA All-Star break will begin after the team clashes with Detroit. The Celtics' next game after taking on the Pistons won't be until Feb. 23 so hopefully, the team can get healthy by then.

Boston also may be without the services of red-hot guard Derrick White on Wednesday night after he stayed back in Milwaukee after the team's loss to see an ear specialist after dealing with trouble hearing. If Williams isn't able to play Wednesday night, it may be tough for Boston.
