Paul George Reacts to Ja Morant's Gun Controversy
Even though Paul George isn't a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, he had incredibly encouraging words for Morant as he's on his road to recovery.
George spoke at length about Ja Morant on Podcast P, where he shared positive words of encouragement for the young superstar.
"I think the positive encouragement I would give to him is first he came out and made the statement apologizing," George said. "That's the first step. One thing I don't want him to be is not himself, we gotta respect who he is as a person. I don't want him to shape to be someone he's not, just because the microscope is on him. He's going to have to cut ties with people. I think as a young kid that's maturing and growing up and becoming a man, you'll realize some people are good for you, and some aren't. That's a part of life, there's no love lost, it's part of maturation as a man. You want to grow. The plan is to always grow. I think he's going through that phase and understanding that 'I can't have that influence that I have around me, because I'm putting that influence on the next generation."
It was revealed by Adrian Wojnarowski that Ja Morant has entered a counseling program to help better himself. Hopefully, this time away from the Grizzlies gives Morant the clarity that he needs, and Paul George agrees.
"This just got to be a wake-up call for him, because unfortunately, there's been other incidents he's been linked to."
