Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is coming off his second consecutive 20-point per game season but is still being heavily underrated by the media.

The Athletic’s Seth Partnow recently composed a list of the best shooting guards across the league. The post highlights Phoenix Suns Devin Booker as the lone tier 2 player but the focus should be on the lack of respect shown to Herro.

Tier 3 includes Donovan Mitchell, Anthony Edwards, Kyrie Irving, and Bradley Beal. Tier 4 contains the likes of Derrick White and Austin Reaves.

Last season, Herro was clearly better than the players mentioned in tier 4 from a statistical and impact perspective. He was the Heat’s third-leading scorer, averaging 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.

Meanwhile, White and Reaves averaged less than 14 points as lesser contributors during the regular season.

The Heat are expected to acquire superstar Damian Lillard this offseason but the Portland Trail Blazers have expressed little interest in Herro. His postseason injury against the Milwaukee Bucks has seemingly taken a great toll on his value as a player.

It’s worth noting that Partnow disrespected Miami’s All-Star center Bam Adebayo by ranking him in the same tier as Minnesota Timberwolves Rudy Gobert.
