Social Media Unleashed On Milwaukee Bucks' Mike Budenholzer For Not Calling Timeouts Against Miami Heat
Frustrated Milwaukee Bucks fans are pointing the finger at nearly everyone for their implosion against the Miami Heat.
The main target is Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer, who did not call timeouts at two key moments in the game.
He refused after Jimmy Butler made the tying basket at the end of regulation and later on the Bucks' final possession in overtime.
“Give him a raise,” one fan sarcastically said. “A big bonus for game management, the right substitutions, the perfect timely time-outs!!”
On the busted possession in overtime, Bucks stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton both had touches, but the ball ended up with role player Grayson Allen.
“Giannis attacked, Giannis got the ball to Khris and Khris attacked," Budenholzer said. "That’s how we always play. It’s always worked for us, but we weren’t able to convert it tonight.”
Bucks fans, however, were having none of it.
Even though Jrue Holiday and Antetokounmpo underperformed at times, Budenholzer took most of the heat for his decision-making all series. He was also criticized for not calling a timeout during the Heat's fourth-quarter run in Game 4.
The Heat move to Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks while the Bucks head toward an offseason of uncertainty.
