Fantasy Football: Week 11 WR Rankings
Kevin Hanson joins SI for the 2019 season. His fantasy rankings have placed him in the Top 20 in each of the past two seasons among all the industry experts tracked by FantasyPros.com, and he has been in the Top 25 in six of the past eight years.
Check out more of Kevin’s rankings: QB, RB, TE, DST, flex and kicker.
WR Start of the Week: D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers (vs. ATL)
Carolina’s Moore has back-to-back 100-yard games after finishing Week 10 with nine catches for a season-high 120 yards. The second-year receiver has double-digit targets in three of four games and at least nine in all four games of that stretch.
The volume has helped compensate for the lack of touchdowns: Moore has scored only one touchdown (Week 3) this season. There are only two players—Tyler Boyd and Moore—that have at least 50 catches but only one receiving touchdown.
The Falcons have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing receivers and only four teams have allowed more passing touchdowns this season. The Panthers have a top-five implied total based on Vegas odds.
WR Sit of the Week: Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals (at SF)
Earlier in the week, I had Alshon Jeffery listed as the wide receiver “sit” against his former collegiate teammate and roommate, Stephon Gilmore, but Jeffery has since been ruled out for Week 11.
Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald began 2019 with either 100-plus yards and/or a touchdown in his first three games of the season. It’s been slow going for the veteran receiver since then, but he tied his season-high in receptions (eight) last week against the Bucs and finished with 71 yards, an eight-week high.
This week’s matchup against the 49ers is much more difficult than last week’s matchup against the Buccaneers. The Bucs allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers while the 49ers have been the league’s stingiest defense for opposing wide receivers. In his first matchup against the 49ers just a couple of weeks ago, Fitzgerald finished with four catches for 38 yards.
