Bengals Select Washing Wide Receiver Rome Odunze in Latest ESPN Mock Draft
CINCINNATI — ESPN dropped its latest 2024 NFL mock draft from Jordan Reid and he has Cincinnati selecting Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze with the 13th pick in the first round.
Odunze would join John Ross III as recent top-15 Washington wide receivers to get drafted by the Bengals.
"The Bengals' offense has been surprisingly stagnant so far this season, struggling to generate explosive plays," Reid wrote. "They have seven completions for 20 yards or more, a league-low. And with Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin all in contract years, wide receiver is likely to be at the top of Cincinnati's offseason priority list. Odunze is a well-rounded target who can attack defenses at all three levels. He has reliable hands and big-play potential, with 86.7% of his catches resulting in first downs or touchdowns this season. Alternatively, the Bengals could look to the offensive line with Georgia tackle Amarius Mims still on the board."
Picking 13th after this season would be a disaster. Cincinnati will have exited Joe Burrow's rookie window with just one Super Bowl appearance as the purse strings tighten across the roster.
Odunze has 45 catches for 818 yards and six touchdowns this season as a 6-foot-3, 215-pound playmaker.
