Browns Kicker Cade York Pumps up Halftime Performance, Misses Go-Ahead Field Goal Twice in Eagles Tie

A unique gaffe from Cade York.

CINCINNATI — The Browns encountered a unique gaffe in their 18-18 tie against the Eagles in Thursday's preseason action. Kicker Cade York was pumping up his first-half performance on social media in the halftime locker room.

He then proceeded to miss not one but two go-ahead field goals to win the game. The first from 47 yards and another on the next play from 41 yards after a penalty on Philadelphia.

It was a rough bit of irony for the Browns kicker who's been anything but solid to start his NFL career. York hit just 75% of his FG attempts last season, including a 19-of-27 mark from 30-plus yards (70.3%).

Since 2003:

- 18.7% of NFL games (479) have been decided by 3 points
- 27.9% of games (715) have been decided by 1-3 points
- 56% of games are decided by 1-7 points
