ESPN Lands On Cincinnati As Top Fit For Germaine Pratt
CINCINNATI — ESPN's Matt Bowen paired the top 50 free agents with new teams this week. Well, most of them got new teams. Linebacker Germaine Pratt fits best in Cincinnati.
"The Bengals should retain Pratt," Bowen wrote. "A three-down linebacker who can play downhill against the run and create coverage disruption. In 2022, Pratt logged 14 pass breakups, two interceptions, and 99 tackles. The production is there -- and so is the tape. I see him back playing the Mike 'backer position for Anarumo in '23."
Pratt was one of PFF's three-highest-graded linebackers this past season and sported the second-best coverage grade in the entire league behind Sauce Gardner.
It was a banner year at the perfect time for Pratt. Still, he does not have a massive market value.
Spotrac projects him to command $10.6 million per year. Cincinnati could probably make that number work if it wants to bring him back.
