ESPN Ranks Joe Burrow Among Top Three NFL Quarterbacks
CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is the NFL's second-best quarterback according to ESPN's latest survey around the league.
Only Chiefs passer Patrick Mahomes checked in ahead of Burrow in the voting compiled from NFL league executives, coaches, scouts, and players.
"Unflappable. Very calm. Poised," an AFC executive said. "Whether you're pressuring him, whether he's ahead or behind, he stays level all the time."
Burrow's pinpoint accuracy and composure in the pocket have helped lead the Bengals to consecutive AFC championship games and sat him atop the mountain of most accurate passers in NFL history.
"He takes time to appreciate because the elite athlete isn't what you see first," a veteran NFL scout said to ESPN. "But the more you watch him, the more you're like, Damn, he's doing the right thing every play. It's a lot like [Drew] Brees and [Tom] Brady where they start doing things so consistently every year and you're thinking, Well, maybe he really is that guy."
