Ja'Marr Chase Reveals Postgame Discussion With Joe Burrow Following AFC Championship Loss

Cincinnati fell just short of the Super Bowl this season.

CINCINNATI —Ja'Marr Chase appeared on The Rich Eisen Show this week and revealed what he and Joe Burrow discussed right after the 23-20 AFC Championship Game loss to Kansas City.

"We didn't really talk too much (after the loss)," Chase said about their exchange. "It's 'I love you, man. Congratulations. We'll be back.' That was our last words. We're gonna be back, and we both know that because we're both competitors."

Chase and the Bengals had a chance to win the game with things tied 20-20 in the final minutes but ultimately fell short of reaching consecutive Super Bowls for the first time in Franchise history.

Eisen brought up the "Burrowhead" comment motivating Kansas City.

Chase agreed that it gave them KC "some extra juice." The receiver didn't stoke those flames but he was ready to if they got the victory.

"They definitely took that and rolled with it," Chase said. "Gave them a little juice and rolled with it so that's what they're supposed to do. ... I didn't use it, but I was going to if we had won."

He gets another chance this coming season when the Bengals travel to face the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium. Although, "Burrowhead" may be a playoff-only moniker.
