Ja'Marr Chase Wants to Set Bengals Single Season Catch Record

The 23-year-old could also crack first-team All-Pro for the first time this season.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — Bengals Pro Bowl wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has made it a tradition to tell reporters what his top individual goal for each season is. On Tuesday, he revealed a desire to break the Bengals' single-season catches record (112).

"I think the record for most catches in a season is 112," Chase said. " I wanna break that, yeah, I wanna break that. So we'll see how that goes."

It was tracking perfectly last year until Chase suffered the midseason hip injury that limited him to 12 regular-season games. Still, he finished 13th in Bengals history with 87 catches and had a 120-plus catch pace over a full season.

It will be interesting to see how much the Bengals force-feed Chase as they did throughout 2022. He got moved around the formation much more but wasn't as explosive (2021: 18 yards per catch, 2022: 12 YPC).
