Bengals Signing Quarterback Trevor Siemian to One-Year Contract
CINCINNATI — It didn't take long for the Bengals to add a veteran quarterback following Brandon Allen's departure.
Cincinnati is signing Trevor Siemian to a one-year contract. The team made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
The 31-year-old was briefly the Broncos’ starter from 2016-17, but he’s started just six games over the past five seasons. He had one of his best career games against the Bengals in 2016 when threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns in a 29-17 Broncos' win.
Siemian has completed 58.9% of his career passes for 7,027 yards and 42 touchdowns. He's also tossed 28 interceptions en route to a 13-17 record as a starter. He reunites with Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. The two spent time together in Denver.
Allen served as the Bengals' backup for the past three seasons. He signed with the 49ers on Wednesday morning.
Siemian will compete with Jake Browning for the backup quarterback job behind Joe Burrow.
