Report: Bengals Make Pair of Executive Hires in Brian Sells, Lacy Ekert
CINCINNATI — The Bengals recently hired a pair of names at the executive level, including the creation of a brand new role.
Sports Business Journal reports a promotion for Brian Sells to the newly created position of chief business officer. Sells has been with the team for decades and just served for seven years as the chief marketing officer.
In this job, Sells oversees new business opportunities, stadium projects, and events. He is also dealing with government affairs and community relations.
The team also added Lacy Ekert as its chief partnership officer. Ekert most recently was a vice president of global partnership development at BSE Global—which is the company behind the Brooklyn Nets NBA franchise.
She is another added voice to aid sponsorship growth and in-stadium sales.
The pair of moves marks another example of the Bengals pulling out every financial stop in the Joe Burrow Era. All while Duke Tobin and Co. work on a long-term extension with the quarterback.
