CINCINNATI — Bengals star wide receiver Tee Higgins is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

The 24-year-old has developed into one of the best young wide-outs in the NFL. The Bengals hope to sign him to a long-term extension and it sounds like Higgins plans on being in Cincinnati next season.

He's even recruiting Cardinals linebacker Isaiah Simmons.

"Yo moms from Cincy my boy… come to ya roots in a year," Higgins tweeted, referring to his college teammate.

Both players are entering the final year of their contracts after Arizona didn't exercise the fifth-year option on Simmons.

It's worth noting that they're good friends and they train together in the offseason.

It's also interesting that Higgins made it clear that he'd love to play with Simmons in Cincinnati. Is he optimistic that a deal is going to get done this offseason? Who knows. But at least he intends on staying with the Bengals beyond the 2023 campaign.

The two sides can agree to an extension at any time.
