Joe Burrow: Time For Haircut 'When You Have A Game Like That'

Cincinnati fell to Cleveland 24-3 to open the 2023 season.

CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow rolled into Bengals practice with a fresh haircut on Wednesday and had fun with some questions about the look as he flushed away his worst NFL performance this past Sunday.

Burrow acknowledged it had to do with his performance (to an extent).

"When you have a game like that on Sunday," the quarterback said about knowing when it's time to chop the locks.

"In a game like that you take as much as you can from it," Burrow said about Sunday's elements. "The conditions weren't great, that's the main takeaway is you learn how to adapt to those conditions. You have a game like that and you reflect on what could you have done better and handle the conditions is the main thing."

Burrow has much better weather forecasted this Sunday against a Baltimore Ravens defense missing key safety Marcus Williams (pectoral). He's posted massive games against the Ravens in 2021, but Mike Macdonald's defense stifled the Bengals' top player in 2022 (5.6 yards per attempt, 81.7 passer rating across both outings).

"They run the ball really well on offense, so limits your possessions and then their defense is tough, physical, they're very sound in their scheme. They do a great job of sending blitzes at you that you don't see on tape before. They have a lot of great week-to-week gameplan stuff. So you have to be able to adapt well to it. They got good players good coach, good scheme. That's gonna be a challenge."

Cincinnati can ill afford to go down 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in the AFC North.

"A little of both, a little of both," Burrow concluded about his loss-motivated haircut.
