Le'Veon Bell Calls Out Vontaze Burfict, Wants to Box Former Bengals Linebacker
CINCINNATI — Former Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is a professional boxer now and he wants to fight one of his old NFL foes: Vontaze Burfict.
The controversial linebacker tackled Bell on a play that left the running back with a torn MCL in 2015.
“There is, it’s just that this person is not a boxer,” Bell said on the Misfits Boxing Podcast about who he wants to fight next. “It’s someone from football. They had purposely injured me. I don’t think I want to say the name, but people who watched my career when I hurt my knee, people know. Yeah, people know. I would love to put my hands on him in the ring."
Burfict has not played in the NFL since getting suspended for a dirty hit in 2019, but he responded to the call out on Instagram.
"Man he wanna fight me," Burfict wrote. "U had yo chances to go head up and u ran the other way multiple times my guy Le'Veon Bell you feel me?"
Bell is 1-1 in his boxing career as he looks for another opponent.
