Lou Anarumo on DJ Turner: 'Can Put Some Weight On, You Can't Make Them 4.2'
CINCINNATI — Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo pointed out how special DJ Turner's sub-4.3 speed is while discussing Cincinnati's second round pick with the media.
"You take the whole thing and put it together and I think he's, he's got some a little bit of ways to go from a weight standpoint," Anarumo said. "But man you can put some weight on you can't make them 4.2. ... There's explosiveness in his body. He's a tough guy throwing his body, around so it's not that he won't try to tackle or anything like that. So we feel like we're getting a complete player."
Anarumo went on to say that Turner will play on the outside primarily.
He checks in at just 178 pounds but makes up for it with quickness. Cincinnat now has sub-4.4 speed all over its secondary heading into an AFC slate that features plenty of fast playmakers.
"These DBs man," head coach Zac Taylor said. "Ones that compete and are tough, are valuable, and he's got the speed to match it. And you know, he's played in pro systems before in Michigan. So we certainly value that as well."
