Ted Karras Reveals Biggest Difference Between OTAs/Mandatory Minicamp
CINCINNATI — Ted Karras recognized one big difference between the Bengals' OTAs and this week's mandatory minicamp: Fines.
The big fella has a few alarms set so he gets to work on time.
"Well, if you're a little bit late, you'll be fined," Karras told James Rapien last week. "That's probably the biggest difference. I think there's a little bit longer practices, I believe probably maybe a half hour more is allowed. But we're really not going to change much. You know, the whole team will be together. ... I think we have 89 or 90 (players coming to minicamp). So we'll have the full regiment. And really not much is gonna change practice-wise. I think we have a great tempo thing going. But yeah, the biggest difference was if you oversleep a little bit, you're gonna get dinged. That to me always makes mandatory minicamp a little scarier."
Karras sets three alarms for the week and judging from the "full regiment" comment, he and the offensive line room expect to see Jonah Williams back in the building.
Cincinnati has famously taken things easy on its players under Zac Taylor and that doesn't appear to be changing this week.
