Willie Anderson Highlights Reggie Williams, Corey Dillon Among Bengals Ring of Honor Candidates

Anderson had an extended conversation with All Bengals publisher James Rapien.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — Willie Anderson appeared on Cincinnati Bengals Talk with James Rapien this week and dove into his thoughts on the 2023 Bengals Ring of Honor candidates.

The former Bengals' right tackle and 2022 ROH inductee had trouble picking from the list of 13 deserving names. He did highlight former linebacker Reggie Williams and former running back Corey Dillon.

"I thought Reggie Williams was the freaking mayor of Cincinnati," Anderson said. "Every time I'd see him, he'd be in a suit outside of downtown Cincinnati, I found that out as a kid he was protesting for the strike years 1987-88. So, I'll always see him in suits and ties, but he was a city councilman. So as a kid, I thought, 'Is that guy the mayor of Cincinnati?' And he was playing football. So guys like that. ... But also, you know, I played with a guy like Corey Dillon, who did so much for this organization. To me, he's one of the all-time great running backs in NFL history."

Anderson went on to say how hard it is to pick one guy but that he hopes the older generation gets their recognition before it's too late.
