ESPN's Jeremy Fowler: 'No Doubt' Joe Burrow Will Be NFL's Highest-Paid Player

Cincinnati has plenty of financial decisions to make this summer.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted that the Bengals are trying to get deals done with multiple young players on Tuesday. He also confirmed that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will be the highest-paid player in the NFL when he signs his new deal.

That means a salary above $52 million annually.

"A very busy and expensive summer in store for the Cincinnati Bengals," Fowler said on SportsCenter. "But Burrow will no doubt be the highest-paid player in the NFL once his deal does get done."

Any talk of a discount to keep other pieces on the roster feels futile at this point. Now, the big question is contract structure and how it will affect the team's decision-making moving forward.

Regardless, Burrow has turned this franchise around completely and more than earned the right to be the highest-paid player in NFL history.
