Tee Higgins Dives Into Added Versatility Within Bengals' Offense Ahead of 2023 Season

Cincinnati has a few receivers that can play different roles.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals have the deepest-receiving corps in the NFL and arguably the best duo in Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase. One way Higgins is trying to improve his impact is through versatility.

He described playing all over the field as the next step for him after Sunday's practice.

"Next step for me is to be able to play in any position on the field," Higgins said. "That's what we've been able to do, move me around a little bit and you know, I've been doing really well in those different positions and that's what I want to improve on this year is just being able to bounce around different spots."

Higgins has been an outside staple throughout his career, especially last season where he lined up out wide on 768 of his 940 snaps to just 159 snaps in the slot.

He's never played more than 218 snaps in the slot during any of his three seasons.

"Yeah, for sure, man, All three of us can play in each spot you know what I'm saying? So I feel like it just helps the offense out a lot," Higgins said before revealing how he's improved this offseason. "Just a lot more smarter, being able to read defenses and stuff like that. And obviously, I feel like I got stronger this year."

A big season is expected from Higgins, a player who could be the next domino to fall on Cincinnati's contract extension agenda.
