Watch: Micah Parsons Defends Joe Burrow, Bengals Slow Start Again

Cincinnati is flashing back to the start of the 2022 season in 2023.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are 0-2 for a second straight season, but Dallas Cowboys star defender Micah Parsons doesn't think there's much to worry about.

He commented on the start in an episode of his podcast, The Edge.

“Look at the Bengals last year, they started their season off 0-2," Parsons said. "Why are we panicking? I think the panic is that Joe Burrow might have rushed back because he wanted to show guys he could do this, and he wanted to lead his team, especially with the contract and things like that. You still have Ja’Marr Chase, you still have Tee Higgins, you still have Tyler Boyd, and once Joe Burrow gets fully healthy, you’re going to have the guy that you have been looking for.”

The big hang-up with the Bengals' outlook is Burrow's health. He looked great in the second half of Sunday's loss with over 150 passing yards and two touchdowns but came up limping from his lingering calf injury right at the end of the game.

Cincinnati can climb out of this daunting hole with a healthy Burrow, but until we see normal movement from him in a game, it's hard to tell when or if that healthy time will come this season. The Bengals are the only team to start 0-2 and make the playoffs since the league expanded to seven teams per conference.

The 2018 Houston Texans (11-5) started 0-3 and rattled off a nine-game win streak to become the only team this century to lose their opening three games and earn a playoff berth.
