Report: Bengals Agree to Restructured Contract With Joe Mixon
CINCINNATI — The Bengals restructured veteran running back Joe Mixon's contract, league sources tell All Bengals. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network was the first to report the news.
The 26-year-old was scheduled to make more than $10 million this season and had a $12.8 million cap hit.
Instead of getting released, Mixon agreed to a pay cut that will keep him in Cincinnati this season.

"Joe just agreed to a restructuring of his deal," Mixon's agent Peter Schaffer told Pelissero. "His goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals.”
Mixon is expected to start with Chase Brown, Trayveon Williams and Chris Evans serving as backups in the running back room.
The Bengals took Mixon in the second-round (48th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He's ran for 5,378 yards and 40 touchdowns in six seasons in Cincinnati. He also has 231 receptions for 1,763 yards and 10 receiving scores.
This is the first contract the Bengals have restructured in team history.
