CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow led the Bengals to a 19-16 win over the Rams on Monday night, despite dealing with a calf strain.

The 26-year-old completed 26-of-49 passes for 259 yards and one interception. Burrow played, despite many people thinking he would miss multiple games after aggravating his calf injury in Week 2.

The Bengals star exchanged messages with Aaron Rodgers prior to the game. Rodgers has dealt with similar injuries. The future Hall of Famer was impressed by Burrow's performance.

"I give Joe a lot of credit because he's dealing with a calf injury and Him and I had a conversation this week," Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show. "Just for him to tough it out. I don't know if people realize how much pain and limited mobility he was in, but for him to gut it out last night and to make enough plays to win. That's what great competitors do. They show up, play through the pain and don't make it a big deal. Only him and a few people in his inner circle know how much he was hobbled and hurting and I give him a lot of credit for going out there. And they were 0-2, it was an important game for them to win and that was a big win."

The Bengals are 1-2 on the season. Burrow is hoping to practice in full this week before suiting up against the Titans on Sunday in Nashville.
