Bengals Signing Free Agent Tight End Mike Gesicki to One-Year Deal

The Bengals have a new pass catcher in the fold.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals have made their latest move in the one-year tight end deal brigade. 

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the team is signing former Patriots and Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki to a one-year deal worth up to $3.25 million.

Gesicki posted 29 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns on 49 targets last season. It resulted in a 55.7 PFF grade across 528 snaps.

He should pair with Drew Sample as the starting tight end options in 2024. Taylor Cornell brought up an interesting wrinkle in Gesicki's alignments.

Gesicki played 70% of his snaps last year from the slot. This is a possible Boyd replacement in the offense
