CINCINNATI — The Bengals are working out two quarterbacks on Saturday. Drew Plitt and Reid Sinnett are in town according to Ian Rapoport. Both played in the XFL this past season.

Plitt, 25, spent training camp with the team last season when Joe Burrow was recovering from an appendectomy.

WLWT’s Olivia Ray was the first to report that Plitt was working out for the Bengals.

“I think there's a good chance. We'll work some guys out and add a guy to the mix," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said when asked about signing a quarterback. "It'll be good to get another arm in there because that's a lot of throws for these two guys.”

Plitt played for the Arlington Renegades in the XFL following his preseason stint on the Bengals' roster. He suffered a knee injury in April, which is probably why the team wants to get a closer look at him even though he played for the team last year.

Sinnett, 26, played for the San Antonio Brahmas. He worked out for the Colts earlier this week and previously spent time with the Dolphins.

Jake Browning and Trevor Siemian are expected to split reps at quarterback with Burrow out. They're competing for the backup job.

Burrow is expected to miss "several weeks" with his right calf strain.
