Chiefs Ink Deal With Jawaan Taylor, Moving On From Orlando Brown
CINCINNATI — Two potential tackle additions for the Bengals are off the board in Andrew Wylie (signed with Commanders) and Jawaan Taylor (signed with Chiefs).
The latter inked a massive four-year/$60 million deal with the Chiefs.
It marked the end of Orlando Brown's time in Kansas City.
"The Chiefs are signing Jawaan Taylor to a four-year deal with the plan being to make him their new left tackle, (pending what happens in the draft)," Albert Breer tweeted on Monday. "So like they did with Orlando Brown, they'll convert a RT over. KC gets the long-term stability they sought at that spot."
Brown is PFF's eighth-best free agent and the top-rated offensive tackle. Now, he is set to find a new home after grading out as the 19th-best offensive tackle in football last season (third with an 88.7 pass-blocking grade).
It'll be interesting to see who the Bengals target to beef up the depth at right tackle. Brown does not seem very likely. Spotrac projects him to land a deal worth $22.4 million per year.
There has been zero indication the Bengals are willing to pay a right tackle that much money.
