CINCINNATI — The NFL schedule won't be out until Thursday night, but Bengals fans shouldn't expect to see many 1 p.m. ET games this season.

We know that Cincinnati will head to Kansas City to play the Chiefs at 4:25 ET on New Year's Eve in Week 17. That's the main time slot for CBS, but doesn't qualify as a primetime game.

It sounds like the Bengals are going to be under the lights early and often in 2023. The NFL's television partners are definitely eager to get Cincinnati on their schedule.

"They are. There's no two ways about it," NFL Vice President of Broadcast Planning Mike North said on the Bengals Booth Podcast. "We all follow teams with good records, star quarterbacks, playoff appearances, Super Bowl appearances. There's no question the Bengals are going to find themselves in a lot of different [time] windows. Not all of the games are at 1 o'clock on Sunday. Those days are over."

NFL teams can be scheduled up to a maximum of six primetime games. Don't be shocked if the Bengals hit that number, plus have multiple games in the 4:25 p.m. ET window when the schedule comes out on Thursday night.
