NFL Insider Shares Latest on Joe Burrow's Calf Injury, Including Potential Timeline for Return

The 26-year-old suffered a right calf injury on July 27.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to miss "several weeks" after suffering a calf strain in practice on July 27.

How long will the star signal-caller be out?

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport shared the latest on Burrow during Back Together Saturday at Paycor Stadium.

"It does not sound like anyone here is worried about Joe Burrow missing Week 1," Rapoport said. "All eyes are on Week 1 for Joe Burrow. It's gonna be a thing where we're probably not gonna see him for the balance of the preseason."

While Burrow will miss the preseason and most of training camp, the fact that he should be ready for Cincinnati's Week 1 matchup with Cleveland is great news.

In the meantime Jake Browning and Trevor Siemian will alternate with the first team offense. They're battling for the backup quarterback job.

Cincinnati also signed Reid Sinnett on Sunday to be their third signal-caller while Burrow is sidelined.
