Will Grier Signing With Patriots Active Roster, Leaving Bengals Thin at Quarterback

In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals have a major question mark in the quarterback room with Joe Burrow nursing a calf injury. 

That room got a bit smaller on Thursday evening when practice squad quarterback Will Grier decided to sign to the Patriots active roster according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He signed with the Bengals practice squad last month after being cut by the Cowboys. 

Most of the players on the team, including Burrow, were no longer in the building when the Grier news broke. He practiced with the Bengals on Thursday.

Jake Browning is the only other quarterback in the building. He would start on Monday night against the Rams if Burrow can't play due to the calf injury.  

Cincinnati will have to add another quarterback between now and Monday night. The most-likely option is veteran Trevor Siemian. He lost the preseason competition to Browning, but he knows the offense. 

This is an interesting spot to be in with kickoff just four days away.
