The 2023 NFL Draft happened just a few months ago but it is never too early to look ahead to the next one. Looking into the draft is a year-round thing that never stops because who isn’t excited about the new wave of talent to be playing on Sundays? With that being said, we’re going to dig into a way-too-early top-10 big board for the NFL Draft.

At this point, training camp is just getting ready to begin in the NFL and there is a full season ahead for next year’s draft prospects. Nonetheless, let’s go ahead and jump right in.

1. Caleb Williams, Quarterback, USC

Simply put, Williams is the best quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence was at Clemson. Williams would have gone No. 1 overall in 2023, unfortunately, he had another year until he was eligible. There will be some late-season tanking by teams to try to secure this spot on the draft order, though they can’t admit it.

2. Marvin Harrison Jr., Wide Receiver, Ohio State

Another guy that has nothing left to prove at the college level simply because he’s shown enough. For me, he may be the best wide receiver prospect since A.J. Green. Harrison should put up if numbers in Columbus once again this fall.

3. Drake Maye, Quarterback, North Carolina

In my personal opinion, Maye could have been the top quarterback in last year's class. He has the accuracy you want and he’s been super productive with limited weapons as a Tarheel.

4. Olu Fashanu, Offensive Tackle, Penn State

In a surprise to many, Fashanu returned to school for one more season after being a projected first-round pick in 2023. If Fashanu continues to fill out his frame there is no reason he isn’t the first tackle taken in 2024. His run blocking is top tier and he’s come along just fine in the run game. He hasn’t played a ton of football, so another year isn’t the worst thing.

5. Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama

Tuner had nine sacks as a freshman then just half of that total as a sophomore. Turner runs a legit 4.4 40-yard dash that shows up on the field with his quickness. He turns speed into power when it comes to rushing the passer and he is a solid contributor in coverage.

6. Joe Alt, Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

Alt will have a chance to be the top tackle in the 2024 draft as he’s everything you want in a future left tackle. He has a long frame, delivers a good punch, and he plays with the aggressiveness that is coveted. Alt will have to continue adding strength to his long frame. Notre Dame has a good one here that I’m excited to see early in the season against Ohio State.

7. Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State

After starting his career at Albany, Verse transferred to Florida State and had nine sacks in 2022. Verse is a pass rusher that relies on speed a lot of the time, so adding weight for the next level will help against bigger, stronger competition. Verse can hold the point of attack in the run game — this is one you will hear called early in next year’s draft.

8. Brock Bowers, Tight End, Georgia

When all is said and done, Bowers may be the best college tight end ever. He had 942 receiving yards last season and wasn’t even targeted as much as he should be. Expect that to change this season and Bowers to put up 1,000 receiving yards. An explosive player that will need to add a few more pounds at the next level.

9. J.C. Latham, Offensive Tackle, Alabama

Latham is one I’m a bit higher on than some. He should have a nice season at Alabama to set him up to be a high draft pick. He’s a bit ahead in the run game right now and certainly can get to the next level. Latham is a bit slow with speed rushers at times, something he will need to continue working on.

10. Kool-Aid McKinstry, Cornerback, Alabama

Of course, there was going to be another Alabama prospect here, one that has a pretty cool name too. McKinstry is a long, athletic defensive back, just what the NFL loves. McKinstry had one interception last year and was adapted to giving up the big play, needing to improve in man. He already stands out in zone coverage and has the body type and athletic makeup to be a dude at the next level.

Though this is a Browns site and Cleveland does not have a first round pick in 2024, Cleveland fans will be in on the draft as they always are. At this point, these are the top players I’ve been able to watch the most early on.
