Cleveland Browns lost multiple guys from last year’s team that were pretty notable. Starters like running back Kareem Hunt, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and safety John Johnson III are all players that remain unsigned on the free agent market.

Looking ahead to next offseason just to keep track of who will be free agents, the Browns have quite a few set to hit the open market next March.

  • S Grant Delpit
  • DE Za’Darius Smith
  • WR Donovan Peoples-Jones
  • DT Jordan Elliott
  • LB Anthony Walker Jr.
  • LB Sione Takitki
  • LB Matthew Adams
  • LB Jordan Kunaszyk
  • LB Jacob Phillips
  • P Corey Bojorquez
  • S Rodney McLeod
  • CB AJ Green
  • DT Trysten Hill
  • QB Josh Dobbs
  • OL Nick Harris
  • CB Mike Ford
  • OL Michael Dunn
  • TE Harrison Bryant
  • WR Marquise Goodwin
  • CB Thomas Graham Jr.
  • DT Maurice Hurst
  • WR Jakeem Grant

Listed above are all of the free agents to be that are currently on the 90-man roster. Of course, multiple of these players will not end up making the 53-man roster, so the list will shrink. Looking at the list, there are at least 11 players on it that will likely see a good number of snaps.

Cleveland very well could extend some of these guys in-season, as they did with right guard Wyatt Teller a couple of years ago for example. With good starts to the season, it would not be a surprise to see guys like safety Grant Delpit or wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones be signed to an extension. Both are players that Cleveland has drafted and e developed.

Though they’re a bit older, keeping guys like linebacker Anthony Walker and defensive end Za’Darius Smith around could prove to be smart. It is far more likely that both are free agents following the season.

When you look ahead to next year there are a few names that Cleveland will surely want to bring back. So, it will be interesting to see if the Browns make any in-season extensions happen this year, or if they’ll wait until the next free agency rolls around.
