Browns Kevin Stefanski Releases Statement on Firing of ST Coach Mike Priefer

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski released a statement after the team opted to let special teams coach Mike Priefer go.
In this story:

Following the Cleveland Browns and special teams coach Mike Preifer parting ways, head coach Kevin Stefanski released a statement on the move.

"I appreciate everything Prief has done for this team in his three seasons as my special teams coordinator, but I have decided to move in another direction in the best interest of our organization," Stefanski said via the Browns official Twitter account. "I know this city will forever be grateful for the job he did as acting head coach in our AFC Wildcard win and for all his contributions while leading the Browns special team's units for the last four seasons. We wish Prief the best with his next opportunity."

Priefer was the acting head coach in the wildcard victory when the Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers while Stefanski was out with COVID-19 a couple of years ago.

Overall, Priefer had been with the Browns in the same role since 2019. Prior to that he coached the same position with the Minnesota Vikings for eight seasons. Cleveland will now be in search of their next coach to lead the special teams.
