A DeForest Buckner Trade now Likely off the Table for the Browns

If it wasn’t already, trading for DT DeForest Buckner is now not likely not to happen for the Cleveland Browns.
In this story:

One big upgrade is now likely off the table for Cleveland Browns and other teams around the NFL. Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner had his contract restructured, signaling he likely will not be traded.

Buckner now receives a $5 million dollar signing bonus up front and $19.75 million fully guaranteed. The Colts saved $2.5 million by making this move. Paying Buckner the signing bonus just to trade him would be silly, so this all but makes it known he will be in Indy for 2023.

Cleveland made their big move at the position by signing Dalvin Tomlinson. Then, they added depth in Trysten Hill and Maurice Hurst. Browns will continue to look into upgrading the position, as Al Woods visited last week. Expect Cleveland to continue to look into free agency, as well as the upcoming NFL Draft for more options to plug inside.
