Where the Browns Fall in These way too Early 2023 Power Rankings

A look at where the Cleveland Browns come in on ESPN's way-too-early power rankings for next season.
In this story:

Though the Super Bowl just ended the 2022 season, ESPN put out a way-too-early power rankings list for 2023 that have the Cleveland Browns in an interesting spot. The Browns come in at spot No. 19 on the list, or last in the AFC North.

The 2023 season is all about Deshaun Watson performing. Cleveland has moved to make, but there will certainly be expectations in 2023 with Watson at the helm for a full season.

Cleveland gave up three first-round draft picks, plus a new $230 million fully guaranteed contract, to trade for QB Deshaun Watson. The first year of the deal didn't go well. After serving an 11-game suspension for violating the personal conduct policy by committing sexual assault, as defined by the NFL, on massage therapists, Watson ranked just 27th in QBR (38.3) as Cleveland's offensive efficiency cratered in his return. Considering Watson didn't play during the 2021 season, either, rust was expected. He now has the offseason to develop chemistry in and with Cleveland's offense. -- Jake Trotter (ESPN)

Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry will be expected to have their team in place and excecuting. If the Browns end the season at this spot, well, we could be looking at a new regimen before long.
