Cardinals in the Mix for Dalvin Cook?
The Arizona Cardinals have plenty to figure out in the next ten days.
The futures of players such as Budda Baker and DeAndre Hopkins could ultimately be decided at some point during the 2023 NFL Draft, which spans from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29.
Arizona also holds the No. 3 overall pick and is highly expected to trade down, giving even more chance for movement directed from the front office.
There's a handful of needs the Cardinals will need to address over the next 10-14 days, and that includes a potential running mate for James Conner in the backfield.
Conner has proven to be productive when healthy and on the field, though that's been somewhat of a struggle dating back to his days with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
New head coach Jonathan Gannon could look to bring in another strong runner to help offset the load in the desert, and Bookies.com believes Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is a name to watch.
Cook - one of the top running backs in the league - could be a cap casualty as the Vikings look to shed some salary.
Dalvin Cook 2023 Team Odds
Miami Dolphins +250 (28.6%)
Minnesota Vikings +300 (25%)
Philadelphia Eagles +450 (18.2%)
Arizona Cardinals +600 (14.3%)
New England Patriots +750 (11.8%)
Chicago Bears +1000 (9.1%)
The Field +700 (12.5%)
With the Cardinals heading into full rebuild mode, it really wouldn't make sense to bring on Cook if he's costing anywhere close to his $14.1 million cap hit for 2023.
However, you can never truly discount anything in a league that continues to generate surprises by the week.
