Cardinals Draft Prospect Jalen Carter Won't Face Jail Time
The Arizona Cardinals have made little splash in free agency, though that was expected for a team hoping to turn its roster around through the NFL draft.
We're slowly but surely creeping to the final days of April, where Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort and crew will have the opportunity to work magic with some high draft picks this year.
One of the top defensive prospects on the board - Georgia Bulldogs DL Jalen Carter - was once considered to be a no-brainer pick thanks to his ability to wreck games in the interior.
Yet things started changing through the process building up to the draft. A week before the 2023 NFL Combine, Carter had some "character concerns" brought up by NFL draft analyst Todd McShay.
Ten minutes before Carter was slated to speak at the podium, reports surfaced of warrants issued for his arrest back in Georgia for two misdemeanors after he allegedly lied about his whereabouts/involvement in a fatal car crash that featured a recruiting analyst and teammate.
Carter immediately flew back and spent roughly ten minutes in jail before a $4,000 bond was posted.
Now, it appears he won't be facing jail time:
Carter's emerged as quite the polarizing figure during this draft process, though it seems the questions around him won't be cooling any time soon.
