Chargers News: Fans React To Hot Start From Justin Herbert This Season

He could be a candidate for the MVP if he keeps this up!

Despite the troubles that the Los Angeles Chargers have seen to open the new year, quarterback Justin Herbert has looked as great as always. The Bolts franchise signal-caller has been one of the bright spots to open the season, and he has shown why they have him a massive extension this offseason.

Through three weeks, Herbert has thrown for 939 yards and six touchdowns. But what has been most impressive is that he has not thrown an interception in the first few matchups of the year.

Herbert has looked better each week, and his passer rating has also improved. It seems that he is getting more comfortable in the new offensive system put into place by coordinator Kellen Moore.

"With the Chargers hiring new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore this year, Herbert is now playing in his third offensive scheme. Despite the Chargers' challenges of getting wins through the first three weeks, Justin Herbert is finding a groove with his offense."

He is learning how to read NFL defenses much better, and it has translated into more efficient offense for the Bolts. If he can keep this production level up, he could be a good candidate to win the NFL MVP award this season.

But the success of Herbert has also cast doubt over the Chargers defense because they could easily be 3-0 rather than 1-2. Some fans believe that it is what is holding this team back.

If the defense can figure some things out, this team could be tough to beat. But for now, the offense has needed to carry the day. Herbert will continue doing his best and hope the rest of the team can follow suit.
