WATCH: Jalen Hurts Extends Philadelphia Eagles Lead vs. Miami Dolphins With 'Brotherly Shove' TD
The Philadelphia Eagles look good in their Kelly Green throwback uniforms Sunday, and so far, they have done quite a bit on the field to feel good about as well.
Whether you call it "The Brotherly Shove" or "The Tush Push," it's an incredibly effective short-yardage play. And quarterback Jalen Hurts reminded the NFL world of that with a one-yard touchdown rush late in the second quarter of Philadelphia's Sunday Night Football tilt with the Miami Dolphins at Lincoln Financial Field.
Take a look:
Kicker Jake Elliott extended the lead to 17-3 by hitting the extra point.
On the prior play, Hurts connected with receiver A.J. Brown for a 33-yard gain, which was initially ruled a touchdown. However, it was overturned upon review, with Brown down just shy of the goal line. Nonetheless, it was an electric play between Hurts and Brown, and set the Eagles up nicely for another score.
It's been a pretty dominant first half for the Eagles, who currently have a two-touchdown lead over the Dolphins. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins entered the game with a 5-1 record and a +67 point differential, so a blowout win would be quite a statement by the Eagles, who are looking to rebound after losing to the New York Jets in Week 6.
While receiver Jaylen Waddle is questionable to return with a back injury, Tyreek Hill is probably the best deep threat in NFL history. As long as he's on the field, the Dolphins can erase a deficit in a hurry. But make no mistake, they have a deficit to erase.
