Aaron Rodgers Makes Week 8 Pregame Arrangement while Appearing on 'Manningcast'
Two former Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks will be in the building for Sunday's local rivalry game at MetLife Stadium.
Appearing on ESPN's Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli, New York Jets' signal caller Aaron Rodgers and retired New York Giants' field general Eli Manning announced their intention to attend the Week 8 clash between the Green & White and Big Blue on October 29.
Rodgers, who was the first of three special guests to join the October 23 edition of the Manningcast, made an effort to arrange a pregame on-field meeting with Eli Manning.
"Let's play a little catch pregame, man. I'll see you out there," said Rodgers as guest spot was coming to a close.
Peyton Manning, Eli's older brother, immediately spoke up in favor of Rodgers's proposal.
"I would love to see that. Get that done," said the older Manning.
Rodgers, who seemingly had a good on-air rapport with the Manning brothers, mentioned how he enjoyed "talking ball" with the two battle-tested quarterbacks. Peyton Manning suggested that they reconvene on a future Monday night.
"Aaron, come back during a Jets game and be our guest. Groundbreaking interview during a game on the sideline. Think about it," said Peyton Manning.
The Jets are scheduled to host the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 9. The November 6 MNF matchup is one of the 10 games on the Manningcast schedule.
Currently rehabbing from Achilles surgery, the 39-year-old Rodgers has attended the Jets' past two home games. After leisurely tossing the football around prior to kickoff, the four-time NFL MVP remained on the sideline for the entire Week 6 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Following Rodgers, NBA star Klay Thompson and comedian Tiffany Haddish joined Peyton and Eli during the Minnesota Vikings vs. San Francisco 49ers game.
