SI Fantasy Expert Staying Away from Running Backs on Sunday Night
The fantasy football advice is clear — fade the running backs in this week's Sunday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs at MetLife Stadium.
Sports Illustrated's Michael Fabiano listed his weekly Starts and Sits for Week 4 in the National Football League and three SNF ball carriers made the sit list.
Chiefs' RB1 Isiah Pacheco was one of five featured running backs in the "Sit 'Em" section.
Through three games, Pacheco has accounted for 202 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown, but he will face a stout run defense lining up against Gang Green. The Jets have limited opposing ball carriers to 3.7 yards per carry and have not allowed a rushing touchdown to date.
When it comes to the Green & White running backs, both Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook landed in the "More Sits" category for the week.
Neither Jets' ball carrier has found the endzone yet this season. Outside of two long runs against Buffalo, Hall has struggled to find a rhythm. Cook has been highly inefficient from the start, gaining only 58 yards on 25 rushes.
Further decreasing Hall and Cook's value, the Jets' offense has struggled to stay on the field. They are averaging fewer than 25:00 of possession and have entered the redzone only five total times in three games.
Point Spread Suggests Jets' Misery Will Continue on SNF
From Start ’Em, Sit ’Em Running Backs Fantasy Football Week 4:
Sit ’Em
Isiah Pacheco at Jets (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC): Pacheco, listed as a start ‘em last week, produced a touchdown and 15.8 fantasy points in a win over the Bears. He has a much tougher foe this week though, as the Chiefs head east to face the Jets. Their defense has been tough on runners at home, allowing just two touchdowns and fewer than 20 points per game to the position since last season.
