Gang Green Announces Jersey Numbers for 2023 Draft Class

The seven first-year pros received their new threads ahead of rookie minicamp

The New York Jets' seven 2023 draft picks now have assigned jersey numbers.

With rookie minicamp kicking off Friday, the organization unveiled the numbers, which are subject to change. It was noted that none of the seven players will wear the same digits they did during college.

First-round selection Will McDonald wore a single 9 at Iowa State, but will sport No. 99 in Green & White. Second-rounder Joe Tippman wore No. 75 as Wisconsin's center, but will change to No. 66 as a first-year pro.

Mekhi Becton (77) owns Carter Warren's college number, so the Pitt left tackle will wear No. 67 when he hits the field at Jets' rookie minicamp. Pitt running back Israel Abanikanda goes from No. 2 with the Panthers to No. 25 with the Jets. Linebacker Zaire Barnes donned No. 3 last year at Western Michigan, but switches to No. 53 with Gang Green.

LSU defensive back Jarrick Bernard-Converse transforms from No. 24 to No. 29. Tight end Zack Kuntz will wear No. 80 with the Jets after sporting No. 81 at Old Dominion and No. 82 during his Penn State tenure.

In addition to the numbers announcement, the Jets presented a list of 13 undrafted free agent signings.
