Jets Unveil UDFA List, Jersey Numbers ahead of Rookie Minicamp
The New York Jets officially announced the signing of 13 undrafted free agents on Friday as the team's rookie minicamp was set to begin.
Factoring in the seven drafted players, Gang Green has 20 rookies on the 90-man roster. That number will likely increase in the days ahead.
The Jets have invited a number of undrafted prospects to rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, including South Carolina linebacker Sherrod Greene, Kutztown receiver Jerome Kapp and Incarnate Word quarterback Lindsey Scott, who won the 2022 Stats Perform Walter Payton Award (FCS Offensive Player of the Year).
In terms of UDFAs, the Green & White made six additions to the offense highlighted by a trio of receivers. Southern Mississippi's Jason Brownlee, Stephen F. Austin's Xavier Gipson and Gardner-Webb's TJ Luther all excelled in college and will battle for a spot in an already-stacked Jets' receiving corps.
There were seven UDFA signings on the defensive side of the ball led by Pitt edge rusher Deslin Alexandre and small-school linebacker Maalik Hall. Alexandre, a 2022 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team member, made 58 career collegiate appearances. Meanwhile, Hall earned the 2021 Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Year award while competing for NCAA Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Here is the complete list of 13 UDFA signings, along with rookie camp jersey numbers, announced by the Jets:
