The New York Jets kicked off the practice week with only two non-participants.

After missing the Week 3 loss to the New England Patriots, starting free safety Tony Adams and backup offensive guard Wes Schweitzer remain on the shelf.

"Tony Adams won't practice today. Neither will Schweitzer. Hamstring and concussion for Adams and Schweitzer," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh prior to Wednesday's practice in Florham Park.

Adams started the season's first two games before injuring his hamstring on a second-quarter tackle against the Dallas Cowboys. Schweitzer, who was hampered by a head injury last year with Washington, suffered a concussion late last week in practice.

Saleh did not provide a timetable for their return.

With the Jets preparing for their Sunday Night Football appearance against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on October 1, all other players participated in practice, including new Practice Squad addition Trevor Siemian.

"Limited as normal, [Mekhi] Becton and Breece [Hall]. Then, [Greg] Zuerlein and [Micheal] Clemons, they'll show up on the injury report but they're full participants," said Saleh.

Becton and Hall have been on a maintenance program that limits them early in the week before progressively ramping up. The offensive tackle and running back have both started all three games. After two starts at right tackle, Becton flipped to the left side in Week 3 with Duane Brown on Injured Reserve.

Zuerlein has been dealing with a groin issue that popped up prior to the Week 2 game at Dallas. The veteran kicker was unable to go against the Cowboys but returned to face the Patriots in Week 3. Meanwhile, Clemons has a nicked-up elbow that doesn't seem to threaten the defensive lineman's availability.

The Chiefs listed two non-participants and two limited players on their injury report Wednesday. Tight end Noah Gray (illness) and linebacker Nick Bolton (ankle) were out while defensive tackle Chris Jones (groin) and receiver Kadarius Toney (toe) were limited.
