Sauce Adds Extreme Heat to His Aaron Rodgers Recruitment Campaign

After directly tweeting at Rodgers on Tuesday, the Jets' confident cornerback took it to the next level on Thursday night

Sauce Gardner's cheesehead has burned to a crisp.

The New York Jets' All-Pro cornerback threw the souvenir headgear into a backyard fire pit on Thursday night and live-streamed the ceremony on his YouTube page.

It was another ploy with the hope of convincing Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers to join the Jets for the 2023 season. Gardner, who won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award, began his recruitment of Rodgers earlier in the week on both Twitter and Instagram.

In the video posted to Garner's social media accounts, the confident cornerback delivers a mini monologue that includes the words, "I need you to come here so we can win a Super Bowl."

Jets running back Breece Hall and receiver Garrett Wilson, who were part of Gang Green's 2022 rookie class, joined Gardner in his backyard for the festivities.

Prior to sending the cheesehead to its demise, Gardner gets Hall and Wilson to place their hands on the memorabilia and help usher it into the fire.

Gardner initially acquired the cheesehead in the field following the Jets' Week 6 win over the Packers at Lambeau Field last October.

After recording three solo tackles and three passes defensed in the 27-10 victory, Gardner paraded around the field while wearing the cheesehead.
