For those New York Jets' fans looking to dabble in the NFL betting futures market, there are two season-long wagers that may seem appetizing at this point in time.

BetOnline has released odds aimed at predicting the 2023 regular season leaders in two key individual statistical categories — touchdown passes and sacks.

First, on the offensive side of the ball, Aaron Rodgers is one of the favorites to lead the league NFL in passing TDs during his first season with the Jets. Despite being fourth overall on the odds board, Rodgers offers a solid payout at 8-to-1 (+800) to finish with the most scoring strikes.

Patrick Mahomes (+275), Joe Burrow (+475) and Josh Allen (+500) are the only more heavily-favored betting options than Gang Green's future Hall-of-Famer.

For the first time in a long time, the Jets' quarterback is a legitimate candidate to reside amongst the NFL's statistical passing leaders.

Although it's far from a lock, Rodgers should be in the conversation for the league-wide passing TDs title throughout the 2023 campaign. Not to mention, that ticket cashed as recently as 2020 when Rodgers's 48 touchdown passes were eight more than the NFL runner-up. The savvy signal caller tied for the fourth-most scoring strikes (37) in 2021, finishing six six-point completions behind statistical champion Tom Brady (43).

In 2022, Mahomes topped the circuit with 41 TD passes. Allen and Burrow finished tied for second with 35 apiece. Rodgers's 26 scoring strikes were seventh most in the NFL.

On the defensive side, interior lineman Quinnen Williams is an intriguing proposition to lead to NFL in sacks at 40-to-1 (+4000) odds.

Although edge defenders are more likely than defensive tackles to pile up sacks, Williams was the Jets' top pass rusher last year with 31 total pressures. The Alabama product's team-high 12.0 sacks (in 16 games) ranked 11th overall on the league leader board.

Kansas City Chiefs' DT Chris Jones totaled 15.5 sacks to lead all interior linemen and stand fourth overall. San Francisco 49ers' DE Nick Bosa finished No. 1 overall with 18.5 sacks.

Aaron Donald was the last defensive tackle to lead the NFL in sacks, recording 20.5 QB takedowns in 2018.

Not likely, but certainly possible, Williams can become the first Jet to top the league in sacks since Mark Gastineau stacked up 22.0 takedowns in 1984. With the chance to turn a $10 wager into $400 in winnings, Williams is a long shot with viability.

His contract situation could be a motivating factor as well, and it's definitely something to monitor for futures bettors.
