Each defense will be without one starter when the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs clash on Sunday Night Football at MetLife Stadium.

Jets' starting free safety Tony Adams and Chiefs' starting linebacker Nick Bolton will both miss the Week 4 clash on October 1. Also declared out on Friday, Green & White backup offensive guard Wes Schweitzer will miss his second straight game due to a concussion.

"He [Schweitzer] made tremendous progress yesterday," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh on Friday in Florham Park. "We're hopeful for next week, but he still has some hurdles he has to climb."

In addition to Bolton, the Chiefs will not have the services of second-string cornerback Jaylen Watson who did not practice on Friday and was ruled out with a shoulder issue.

All other players, on both teams, are expected to be available for the 8:20 pm ET kickoff on NBC.

Running back Breece Hall, left tackle Mekhi Becton and veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein, the only other Jets on the official injury report, were all full participants for the Jets during Friday's practice. Defensive lineman Micheal Clemons dropped off the injury report Thursday after making an appearance on Wednesday with an elbow issue.

Adams sustained a hamstring injury in the second quarter of the Week 2 battle at Dallas.  He won the starting free safety job during the preseason and made 10 tackles over 1.5 games before going down. Saleh is hopeful that both Adams and Schweitzer can return to practice next week.
