The New York Jets made a change to their Practice Squad on Tuesday while also officially placing quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Injured Reserve.

The team brought Malik Taylor back into the fold, adding the wide receiver to the Practice Squad while sending undrafted rookie linebacker Caleb Johnson to waivers.

Taylor, a final cut, appeared to be in the mix for a spot on the 53-man roster before getting dinged up in August.

The 6-foot-3 pass-catcher opened the preseason by making a 57-yard first-quarter reception in the Hall of Fame Game on August 3. The 27-year-old small-school product, from Division II Ferris State, also made one catch for 10 yards in Preseason Game No. 2 before sitting out the final two exhibition contests.

Prior to adding Taylor, the Jets did not have a receiver on their 16-man Practice Squad.

By sending Rodgers to IR after an MRI confirmed a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture, the Jets cleared a roster spot for backup cornerback Brandin Echols, who spent Week 1 on the Suspended List.

Echols, a 2021 sixth-round draft pick, saw only 69 defensive snaps in 13 appearances last season after making 14 starts at cornerback as a rookie.
