Ravens WATCH: OBJ Makes One-Handed Catch In Practice
Odell Beckham Jr. is up to his old tricks. At the Baltimore Ravens' joint practices with the Washington Commanders on Tuesday, he made a one-handed snag on a pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Early on, Jackson said the ninth-year wide receiver's speed caught his eye and that they're building a good connection on the field.
"I feel like our chemistry, it's there," Jackson said. "And he's a lot faster than people give him credit for. A lot faster."
Beckham Jr. has also made a strong impression on Ravens tight end Mark Andrews on and off the field.
"He's been a joy to play with," Andrews said of Odell. "Inside the lines, he's extremely competitive and he's really good at what he does, but he's also an incredible teammate. He's a great guy to have in the locker room, and he's been nothing but the best and what you expect from a guy like that. I'm very thankful to have him on this team."
OBJ's ability to make spectacular catches helped turn him into one of the best receivers in football early in his career. None were better than the one-handed catch he made in his rookie year in 2014 against the Dallas Cowboys for a touchdown.
The Ravens signed Beckham Jr. to a one-year $15 million deal this offseason and have performance-based incentives that can boost it to $18 million. He didn't play last season as he was recovering from a torn ACL.
While Odell may not be the same guy who was one of the best receivers in football early in his career, he can still add a much-needed boost to Baltimore's passing attack.
