Baltimore Ravens Among Teams 'Most Likely To Disappoint' in 2023

The Baltimore Ravens have their sights set on the postseason after going all in during the offseason, but could they disappoint in 2023?

Anyone who has paid attention to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason gets the message that the team is officially in "win-now" mode.

The Ravens signed franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson to a five-year $260 million contract extension in April and brought in new weapons for him in Odell Beckham Jr., Zay Flowers, and Nelson Agholor. Baltimore also hired Todd Monken to take over as offensive coordinator with hopes that he can elevate the Ravens' passing attack.

Equipped with a new offense that is full of potential and a loaded defense, it is easy to peg the Ravens as a team bound for the playoffs.

But could they disappoint in 2023? Bleacher Report is not entirely convinced that the Ravens are the real deal this season. The outlet listed Baltimore among the five teams "most likely to disappoint" this season due to the injury history of players such as Jackson, Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman, and JK Dobbins.

"While it's certainly possible this group largely stays healthy and matches or even exceeds projections," Bleacher Report writes. "It seems more likely that an injury or two will submarine the Ravens' 2023 season."

In past seasons, the players on Baltimore's roster have had a tendency to fall victim to the injury bug, but it is impossible to predict how or when injuries will occur.

Injuries happen to every roster in the NFL so why not just mark all 32 teams as most likely to disappoint?

Beckham is coming off a knee injury that kept him out for the entire 2022 season, but has reportedly had "no limitations" at training camp and team data shows that Jackson is "throwing the ball really well" after dealing with injuries last season.

The Ravens are healthy entering the 2023 regular season and until their players actually start going down with injuries they will likely find themselves in the postseason again.
